The Engineering & Migration Process
The Project Brief & Challenge
Steadybit had rapidly outgrown their existing Webflow website. As an expanding enterprise company, they needed a platform that could handle much more than static marketing pages. Their vision included launching a comprehensive “Academy” for learning videos and courses, an interactive hub for events and conferences, and an expansive resource and news center. Webflow’s strict CMS limits and rigid structures made this impossible to scale effectively. The engineering challenge was immense: successfully migrate their entire content library from Webflow to WordPress without losing a drop of SEO authority, redesign key pages to modernize the brand, and build entirely new, complex architectural modules from scratch.
The Migration Strategy & Figma Redesign
The project kicked off in Figma, where we reimagined Steadybit’s visual identity to reflect their status as an enterprise-grade chaos engineering platform. We designed sleek, developer-focused interfaces that prioritized readability and lead generation. Once the designs were approved, we initiated the complex data migration. We abandoned off-the-shelf page builders and coded a proprietary, lightweight WordPress theme from the ground up. This ensured that the site remained incredibly fast, passing Core Web Vitals with flying colors despite the massive addition of new media and interactive components.
Architecting the Academy & Event Modules
The true heavy lifting of this project was engineering the bespoke functional modules. We built a custom Learning Management System (LMS) tailored specifically to Steadybit’s needs. By utilizing interconnected Custom Post Types (CPTs) and advanced metadata mapping, we created a seamless “Academy.” Users can now browse categorized video courses, track learning paths, and access exclusive materials. Simultaneously, we built dynamic, AJAX-filtered hubs for their upcoming events, webinars, and industry conferences. This gave the marketing team a unified, highly organized dashboard to manage hundreds of pieces of varied content without ever touching a line of code.
SEO Overhaul & Technical Triumphs
Migrating from Webflow to WordPress presents massive SEO risks if handled poorly. To protect Steadybit’s established search rankings, we executed a meticulous, URL-by-URL migration strategy. We mapped hundreds of legacy Webflow URLs to their new WordPress counterparts via strict, server-level 301 redirects. Furthermore, we implemented dynamic Schema.org markup for their new courses and events, ensuring Google could index the new rich data immediately. We also optimized database queries and implemented advanced edge-caching to guarantee that even the heaviest video-learning pages load in milliseconds.
The Final Outcome & Enterprise Impact
The resulting platform is a monumental leap forward. Steadybit transitioned from a constrained marketing site into a powerful, interactive enterprise portal. The marketing and content teams now possess a robust, intuitive WordPress backend where they can publish courses, schedule conferences, and release news seamlessly. The complex migration resulted in zero downtime and zero loss of search engine rankings. Most importantly, the newly introduced Academy and Resource modules have transformed the website into a lead-generation engine, drastically increasing user dwell time, community engagement, and product adoption.
